Hi there! I am Andres G., and I am currently a 2nd year medical student (MD) looking to become a psychiatric or emergency medicine resident. I've gone from being an film-maker (undergrad) to med student (current) during my time at college, adapting to science knowledge along the way, and I look forward to helping others learn and adapt to their studies as well! Everyone has their own way that they learn best, and not only will my sessions show you the ins-and-outs of the material, but I will...
Everyone has their own way that they learn best, and not only will my sessions show you the ins-and-outs of the material, but I will also try to adapt to your best method of learning (visual, auditory, kinetic, etc.).
Science subjects can be intimidating at first. However, coming from an arts background, it was necessary to find the appeal and understanding in the scientific fields in order to succeed and be where I am today. Not only that, I was forced to think in different ways to study smarter, not harder, for subjects that may not be intuitively understood. So, just as I had to build my scientific intuition to succeed, I am eager to help others succeed by not just showing them WHAT to study, but more importantly HOW to study.
I am not only knowledgeable about the science textbook material, but also helping students identify meta-ideas, studying strategies, and learning methods that will help make them an more independent science student.
To enter medical school, I scored within the top 85th percentile on the MCAT. I was among the first people to take the "new" MCAT that was introduced several years ago.
