About Robin

Pre-Algebra Problems? Grammar Slammer? So Many Charts? Running a Reading Relay??
Sound familiar? These are common challenges facing students taking the ACT Test.

Hi there! Are you looking for an effective and experienced ACT Test Prep Tutor? If so, I can help!

I have over 10 years of experience preparing college bound high school students for the ACT. Whether you are looking for individual attention and support or would like to work in a small group setting, whether you need just a few points or a larger bump, I can help.

I break each section of the ACT into 2 hour segments, during which we will identify what types of questions the ACT typically asks, review foundational skills, and practice techniques to help you boost your score. When you contact me, I will send a “menu” of options you can choose from to start tutoring. I provide all materials, you just bring a ready-to-learn attitude and your calculator.

There is a discount available for 2 or more students, so grab your friends and let’s start gaining those ACT points!

Location:
I have a dedicated classroom in my home in North Edmond or I can schedule a room at the Northwest Library near 122nd and MacArthur.

A little about me:
Before I became a full time tutor I spent over a decade working in telecommunications, analyzing data and enhancing revenue. I went to high school at the prestigious Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics and majored in Psychology at the University of Oklahoma. I scored perfect on math and reading on my ACT and had a score of 34 overall. Beyond this, I have always nurtured curiosity and learning in my children as well as in the various mentoring roles I've held.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Phonics

I have trained at the Payne Education Center which develops and teaches the Orton Gillingham method. This incorporates systematic phonics into the curriculum for early reading and literacy. I have been using these methods, along with more traditional phonetic approaches, in tutoring for a couple of years.
