My love of teaching comes from a love of learning and the knowledge of the difference one good teacher can make. I am a graduate of Oklahoma State University who specialized in Leadership, Psychology, Statistics and Math, and Training and Development. I have been working with young people for almost 7 years in a variety of ways such as Tutoring, Counseling, etc. I have had the pleasure of helping dozens of young people achieve their goals and succeed.
I specialize in teaching various levels of Math (everything from Algebra to Trigonometry to Calculus to Statistics), Social Studies including Economics, ACT prep, and Science (focused on Biology and Chemistry). I am also able to teach English.
My goal as a teacher is to insure that my students have a thorough grounding in the core structures used in Math or Science. I also focus on discovering each students unique learning style. Focusing on these strengths allows each study session to be challenging but not overwhelming.
I look forward to hearing from and being able to help each of my students achieve their personal goals. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
