Youngstown State Univ (Photography)
Hi prospective students, I am a college student looking to help interested students looking to learn about photography. I am currently working toward my photography degree at a local university and want to extend my knowledge to others. I have been doing photography for the last 6 years, having worked with a local photographer for a few months and currently trying to open/ run my own business as well.
Although I have never tutored before, I feel like my knowledge of photography could help others interested in the subject. I would love to teach others what I have learned over the years. I want to keep my students challenged in the subject but not overwhelmed and not take over other important school work.
I will provide in home lesson plans to begin with for the first 5 lessons, giving some light homework after each lesson to see what the student retained as well as short quizzes at the beginning of the lessons to see what they remember from the previous lesson. After the first 5 lessons we will move on to the student actually learning to take pictures and work with lighting, etc. The reason for the first 5 lessons is so that the student learns the fundamentals before getting behind the camera and what goes into taking amazing pictures.
I appreciate feedback from students and parents on how they feel the lessons are going. I am pretty flexible with time but I do have a job and school myself, so I require cancellations 24-hours in advance and we will reschedule the lesson at another time.
Lessons can take place in home or at a local coffee shop whichever is more comfortable for the student and parents.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve your goals in learning more about photography!
I really look forward to working with you. If any questions please feel free to ask! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
