My love of tutoring comes from a lifelong love of learning. I graduated summa cum laude from Westwood College with a bachelor of science in graphic design, major in visual communications and have learned that hard work and dedication to learning does pay off. My experience as an online college tutor spanned the last three years of college where students focused on the core principals and elements of graphic design as well as the Adobe Creative Suite CS5, CS6, and Cloud software applications. I excelled in English and writing studies, and helped many student learning English as a Second Language perform at a college writing level.
To a lesser degree, I helped students in various areas of study that included, but was not limited to master degree thesis writing, math and statistics, government and political science, Earth and physical science, as well as ethics, critical thinking, and psychology. The idea of assisting others in meeting their goals would always be accomplished with an improvement over any given situation. The best reward of tutoring is to see others realize their own potential and grow beyond expectations.

Whether we are working on college mid-term papers, or a Photoshop project, my main goal in each session is to engage the student in active learning by helping the student recognize where they need to focus their attention. Then guide them through a process that brings about improved understanding, grades and test scores. I can assign homework; provide periodic assessments as well as progress reports.

To ensure that students have a quiet and comfortable space in which to work with me, I will soon have a tutoring office in my home, where I teach private lessons and group classes. However, I am happy to travel to another location if that is more convenient for the students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My credentials include a bachelor of science in graphic design: major in visual communications, summa cum laude (March, 2014). During 2011 through 2014, I tutored Westwood College students the fundamentals of graphic design using an online virtual environment. Oftentimes, student studies required focusing on the various applications and techniques used within the different Adobe Creative Suite software products. Specific areas of interest included, but were not limited to, digital imaging in PhotoShop, digital layout in InDesign, audio-video in Premiere Pro, web design in Dreamweaver, interactive design in Flash, as well as print production and graphic design history. The school supported many different design courses wherein I was sought out to provide information even in those subjects I was not formally schooled simply, because I knew how to research and find solutions to proposed problems. Perhaps, this is one of my most valuable assets as I could always accommodate the student with - if nothing less than, a specific course of action that would improve upon the student's performance and grade.
I have taught APA documentation format for those who write papers in the social sciences for both graduate and under graduate students attending college online. The APA style places greater importance upon the date of publication of the resource than does MLA, which generally is used more for the humanities.
Furthermore, I would be happy to help you with identifying the key information that is necessary when writing a research paper, such as the title and the opening with anecdote; author's names, titles of works, and page references for borrowed material; facts and statistics, your thesis statement, precise definitions, etc.
I've written many research papers in the APA style format, and have been able to help many students write their research papers resulting in the highest grades. Through my direction, support, and your active learning skills, you will be able to write papers on your own as my focus is totally upon your success.
