I've been teaching Spanish for the last 8 years in private schools. I've been tutoring adults and children for the last five years all different levels from K- high school. In order to help students to learn I am always aware of my student’s development by doing a pre-assessment of my students to plan different strategies for the learning process and I know the importance of knowing my students ways of learning to effectively choose teaching methods that suit my student’s needs. One of my primary goals of teaching is to help students build a solid foundation in the language learning process that will help them develop free-thinking critical skills. As a Spanish teacher I am a mentor for many students. I am responsible for making sure that all students learn the required material for Spanish that corresponds with the state standard guidelines. A great amount of planning goes into each lesson in order for all requirements to be achieved. I've been helping my students over the years to achieve their goals as an individual and incorporate appropriate activities to aid in student learning. I will devise a way to assess student understanding, another important aspect of responsible teachers. I feel that my strengths as a teacher are student involvement, interaction, and motivation. Teaching my native language, Spanish, gives me the power to use the strategies that I grew up learning. I love what I do and I will keep sharing that love and passion for teaching and learning with my students. Excitement is contagious and motivation is a key. As a Spanish teacher, I believe in bringing the content to life, making lessons enjoyable, purposeful, practical and most importantly, making lessons memorable. As an educator, I believe in making an impact, establish good habits, and creating a learning environment.
