Building a scientifically literate community is invaluable to the social and economic successes of that community. This goal is shared by all who are directly and indirectly involved in the world of academia. All individuals have their own unique way of learning about the world we all share. My experiences teaching and conducting research, both locally and abroad, have given me a unique and developed way of providing the transfer of knowledge to learners of all types. Differentiated instruction, tailored to the needs of the learner is fortunately in my skill set, and I consistently look forward to this transfer of information.
Over the course of my graduate program at Miami University, I had the benefit of conducting research in multiple South American countries. We worked closely with local schools to build scientific literacy based on inquiry education. My teaching experience ranges from teaching English and social studies in Egypt and Iraq to biology and chemistry at my current school here in Columbus. This variety can greatly benefit any student, as it did my own personal quest for knowledge.
I have a Master's degree in teaching biological sciences, and am teaching chemistry to high school students this year. I have experience teaching science in multiple countries and grade levels. Teaching science is a passion of mine. It is not a job, rather a way of life.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
