I have tutored many relatives in accounting at Ohio State and Franklin University. I try to make the student understand the underlying accounting principles that are involved in their problems. To train them in ways to cross check and verify their answers. I try to get the student to verbalize what they have learned. I firmly believe that if they can explain it logically to me,they understand. If not, more work is necessary. In addition, the ability to communicate is critical in the accounting field. I train them to enter the world of public accounting or business with confidence and teach them what to expect. Accounting is the language of business but they must learn how to speak it.

Ernie was absolutely wonderful. He was so patient with me throughout a long semester. Being that math, especially accounting is not my subject of choice. Ernie really helped me look outside of the box and helped me learn many useful solutions that were easier then the given formulas. He is kind, understanding and passionate about wanting to see you succeed. I am very grateful to him.
Ernest can always take a difficult lesson and explain it in such a way that it becomes clearer and less frustrating. Accounting is not my favorite subject but with Ernest's help, it's less painful and I have much better grasp of the concepts.
After meeting with Ernest, I was able to go from having a D in Managerial Accounting to an A in an accelerated course! I would definitely recommend him for anyone struggling with learning accounting concepts.
Ernest has been helping me prepare for a Graduate Level Financial Accounting final exam as part of an MBA program through Syracuse University.
Ernest helped me chip away at some tough course material and understand the concepts behind the numbers in preparation for the test. Would highly recommend! Thanks Ernest!
Ernest was a great tutor very patient and knowledgeable when it comes to accounting like to work with him again
Ernie has very real world examples to help you grasp the understanding! Very patient, and a pleasure to work with!
Ernest explains accounting in such a way that helps you to grasp the terms and concepts in a simple fashion. He is very professional and knowledgeable and I'm glad to have found him. I definitely will continue using his services. His experience in accounting is exemplary. Thanks to Ernie I was able to receive an A in financial accounting, and an A- in managerial accounting as well. I enjoyed his teachings and his knowledge. What an intelligent, non-intimidating tutor. Glad to have made this gentleman's acquaintance. We did it Ernie!
Ernie explained the material very well. He is knowledgeable, credible, and flexible. I'm very satisfied with the service I received and would recommend Ernie to anyone who needs help with financial accounting. Thank you Ernie!
This tutor has mad skills with accounting and financial statements. He teaches using examples which makes the lessons easier to understand. Ernest does not get annoyed when asked the same question or when I asked him to say something in another way if I can't understand (English is my third language). He is accessible by email, phone, and works around my schedule which is helpful to me as between work and school my hours are very irregular.
If you're in need of a tutor, I recommend him!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I worked in business for forty years as a partner in a regional C.P.A firm, a vice president of a real estate company and the owner of my own real estate interests.I also was a consultant to troubled companies and also to banks that had problem loans.
Retired CPA, tutored Ohio State and most other colleges in Columbus area. Have tutored for the CPA exam.
As a CPA, I gave many seminars on technical subjects both for CPA firms and The Ohio Society of CPAs. I understand being nervous. In the beginning, I was the same way. There are ways to calm your nervousness and most importantly, be prepared.
