My parents instilled good grammar, excellent reading skills and a love of science
in me from an early age. I like kids and enjoy helping them achieve their fullest potential. Patience is also a big part of my makeup. Enjoying the "wonderments" of life and "getting it right" are very important to me, and I love to see those traits rub off on others. My formal education ended after High School, but the learning goes on!
As far as tutoring experience, I raised four children (now grown) and informally tutor four grandkids. I wrote and directed a one-act play at our local community theatre, and last summer was the resident "not-quite-mad" scientist at our Vacation Bible School. This involved at least one informative and interesting experiment on each of the six afternoons. We ALL thoroughly enjoyed it! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
