I choose to be a tutor because I want to help children and youth learn and because I love the English language. I always have excelled in reading and writing, and I seek to pass on my love for these to other students of all ages.
Whether the student is seeking help with poetry, English literature, or just plain old grammar, I promise to make my passion contagious!
I have a Bachelor's of Arts degree in English literature and a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism, which were earned simultaneously at Ohio University. I am also a practicing attorney, where I am reading complex documents and writing legal motions and other communications all day. Not only do I enjoy working with children, I received training to work with children of all ages as a CASA/GAL (Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian ad Litem) through the Summit County Juvenile Court.
Please feel free to message me if you have questions about me or special concerns that this brief introduction does not address! I look forward to meeting with you soon. Rebecca has a very easy going, professional teaching style. My son has learned so much from her alreay and he looks forward to the tutoring sessions. He states that she identifies the issues, explains them and then shows him how to improve or correct the issues. We are very happy that she signed up with Wyzant or we would have never found her.
Rebecca is a knowledgeable and personable tutor. She is easy to work with and I would recommend her to others.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
