Bluffton University (Spanish Education)
I am a Spanish and TESOL/TEFL certified educator. I received my TESOL certification through the internationally accredited institution, LinguaEdge. I also hold a Bachelor's degree from Bluffton University in Bluffton, OH, in Spanish. I have lived in Central America (Costa Rica and Nicaragua) meeting remarkable individuals along the way. The relationships that have stemmed from my time abroad have encouraged me to become an educator. I desire to share the joys of language with eager students. I don't think of myself as someone whose sole job is to convey information. However, I am a student as well. I learn from my students all the time. Though I have exceptional experience with English and Spanish languages, does not mean that I am incapable of learning something new. I hope to learn at least one new thing from each student that I come into contact with. I am also an unconventional educator in that students create their own homework and assessments. The liberty that I allow students to have over their educational reinforces their desire to continue learning. I make recommendations for students to consider. Ultimately, the decision rests with them.

Roland was a joy to have as a teacher. He is most patient and explains things is a very clear and understandable way. Enjoyed my class very very much.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
