I am so relieved I have found Denise and she has really helped my daughter in her reading and math. My daughter enjoys meeting with her and I would definitely suggest Mrs. Denise to everybody!!
Denise did a nice job discovering my daughter's learning style and getting a game plan. I think my daughter is also feeling hopeful for the first time in quite awhile that she can get out of this learning hole. I look forward to continuing this relationship.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am an elementary K-8 Math Specialist with a Masters degree in Reading and certification K-12. I use the Common Core standards every day in my teaching and tutoring. I am constantly keeping my self updated and abreast of new developments and teaching lessons as it relates to the Core. Before I tutor or teach, I go to the Ohio Department of Education and look up the standard pertinent to teaching/tutoring.
