Eastern Illinois University (Pre-Med)
Hi, I'm Taylor. I attend Eastern Illinois University. I am currently playing softball there while double majoring in Pre-Med with a focus in Biology and Health Studies with a focus in Health Administration. Also, I am minoring in business. Yes, this is a full load with softball, but I love it! I love working with children, and that's why I want to be a Pediatrician. School has always been a huge part of my life whether it be learning myself or helping others learn!
My experience with teaching includes tutoring peers while I was in class because I finished my work early. When babysitting, I have helped children with their homework. I have volunteered at an autism center, and helped them with learning activities and school work. My senior year, part of my day, was aiding at the elementary helping students with math, reading, spelling/grammar, art and other activities. At college, I help with an after school program. I believe a good education is important for everyone, and it is important for everyone's future. This is why I am ready to help your children succeed.
Since 6th grade I excelled in math. I tested into the advanced math, so starting in 7th grade I took high school math courses. I finished every math including calculus by my junior year of high school. I received college credit for calculus. Also,I tested out of math in college.
I have now taken high school anatomy, college Physiology (as a course itself) and Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2. I have received A's in every single one of these classes. The human body is one of my favorite subjects to learn about!
I am a young an energetic individual. I love school work and all things learning. I am very organized, prepared, motivated, and hard working person. Everything I have done in life has allowed me to succeed in the classroom. Not only will I be able to help a child with school, but I will be able to help them with time management and organization. These are the biggest skills I have learned that have allowed me to succeed in my life and schooling. I look forward to hearing from you, and helping your child succeed in school! Thanks! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I help out in elementary classrooms a lot when I return home from college, especially first grade. I have been advanced in math since middle school. I tested out of math in college. I can make math fun for children who struggle with it.
Science has always been one of my strongest subjects. I am qualified to tutor in Elementary science because it is the basics of what I study every day. With studying biology in college, I am just studying more advanced information than what is taught in elementary education.
I am qualified to tutor softball because I am currently playing Division 1 softball at Eastern Illinois University. I have many all state awards, and have been playing competitively my whole life. I played 4 years of variety softball, and played over 10 years of travel softball. I have given private lessons and helped coached since graduating high school. We also hold camps at school in which our softball team at EIU runs and coaches.
I am qualified to tutor volleyball because I played and coached the sport for many years. I began playing volleyball in 4th grade. I played 3 years of varsity volleyball. I coached middle school volleyball camps and open gyms for 6 years. I was an assistant coach for a Glass City Volleyball team for 2 years. I have given private lessons for the past 2 summers.
