Doug has been an Investigative Agent with the Miami Co. Board of Developmental Disabilities since January of 2014. Doug has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Dayton and a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Xavier University. Doug has worked in retail loss prevention as a store detective, supervisor and check/credit card investigator. He has also worked as a credit card fraud investigator, working in conjunction with local, state and federal agencies such as the FBI, Secret Service and US Postal Inspectors. He has a great deal of experience working with youth and families, having worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer in Montgomery and Warren County. He has been a Police Officer with the Morrow and Mason Police Departments in Warren County. Most recently, Doug was the Criminal Justice Department Chair with a community college in Dayton where he taught courses in all areas of Criminal Justice including Policing, Probation and Parole, Interviewing and Interrogation, Crime Scene Investigation, Security, Courts, Criminal Law, Corrections, and Criminal Investigation. Doug has attended numerous trainings through OPOTA (Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy) and other state and local agencies on a wide array of topics. He is a certified Sex Offender Specialist through Ohio University, a certified Defensive Tactics Instructor and has taken extensive training in Motivational Interviewing and Reality Therapy.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
