I’m Jane, and I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Cornell University. In college, the professors I liked the best were those who loved what they did, brought this passion to the classroom, and showed a genuine interest in their students. I try to bring this lesson forward in all my tutoring sessions by ensuring that students feel engaged every step of the way.

I have 10 years of experience in tutoring grade school, high school and college students for Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Pre-calculus, and Calculus as well as SAT and ACT preparation. My tutoring experience has allowed me to work with students with abilities across the learning spectrum. This experience has helped me to understand the importance of tailoring my tutoring sessions to the individual student by asking questions to understand how each student thinks. Additionally, my experience has taught me that sometimes a student is missing one little skill that, if uncovered and worked with, can unlock that student’s ability to move forward. Where applicable for younger students, I often introduce fun math games to strengthen those students’ basic math skills. I think that one of my strengths is my patience. Another strength is that I understand that it is essential to build a student’s confidence as he or she learns.

Since parents know their children better than anyone else, I welcome any insight they can provide to help me help their children achieve the best results possible. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime to discuss your student or to schedule a tutoring session.

Amazing tutor

My son was so reluctant to go through tutoring. After one session with Jane he came dancing down the stairs claiming he was no a master at the Calculus section they reviewed! He couldn’t wait for his next session.

My daughter took Math tutoring from Jane over the summer to get ready for Algebra II. She benefitted a great deal from this tutoring and decided to continue and make it a regular thing. My daughter's confidence level has increased tremendously because Jane makes her understand all the concepts really well.

Knowledgeable tutor

Jane has helped our son look at quadratics in new ways! He is now an excellent math student and is often asked to present his solutions to the entire class. His creativity and confidence in problem solving has soared, and math is now his favorite subject.

very nice and patient

I am very pleased to find Jane for my 8 years old daughter and my 11 years old son to help with their math. She spend hours to get to know the kids before the class starts and getting materials ready for the kids. Knowing my daughter is interested in math pazzles, she did a research and came up with list of all the puzzles that she might be interested to play. Now our entire family are hooked on Sudoku games! My daughter just finished her first lesson with Jane, loves it. I can't wait for my son to start his lesson with Jane next week. If you are looking for a loving tutor that pays attention to individual kid's need, Jane is one to go for. Highly recommand!

Patient, knowledgeable and in tune with each of our children.

Jane always knows where to start the lessons, what our children’s challenges are and even more importantly, how to help them through all of them step by step. Both our children continue to look forward to their lessons with Jane every single time.
