My expertise is in teaching 4-8 year old children how to read and accelerate their reading skills to at or beyond where their classmates are at any given point in the school year. In order to accelerate, the students must see me on a daily basis for 3-5 times each week. The students should need less than 15-20 weeks to show a large amount of improvement. I can teach special needs children to read as well.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. My experience has been as an elementary school teacher for the past 26 years. I had taught Kindergarten for 8 years. The past 18 years I have been teaching accelerated reading skills to Kindergarten through 3rd grade students. The students that I serve are the lowest performing students in the classroom, but they still
receive grades that are almost all A and B grades. The majority of my students also pass the 3rd grade Ohio Reading Test. I have tutored students in grades K-12 in all subject areas.

My experience as a Reading Recovery Teacher has given me years of experience studying educational brain studies on the best techniques of how to teach students phonics in ways that will accelerate their reading skills..
As an elementary school teacher, I have served many special needs students. I have tutored special needs students who were off from school due to medical issues. I know how easily students can get behind due to medical issues and how to accelerate their learning to get caught up with their class.
