About Quentin

Hi there! I'm currently a student at the Ohio State University finishing an undergraduate degree in environmental engineering. Since I'm still a student, I can empathize with the frustrations that come with learning something new, and I'm familiar with the hard work that goes into academic success.

My major is multidisciplinary, consisting of aspects from General physics, fluid mechanics, organic and environmental chemistry, microbiology, ethics and much more. Math and science are a lifelong passion of mine, and I love making complicated concepts simple enough for anyone to understand. I'm a firm believer that anyone can excel in these areas with the right teacher.

In addition to the sciences, I also have a love for French. I studied 4 years of French in middle/high school. However, it was during my year of mission service in Benin, West Africa that I came to master the language. I seize every opportunity I get to speak with another francophone and keep myself immersed in French regularly to stay fresh.

As a missionary I was an English teacher. I taught 7th/8th grade level English to 3 classes of 50+ students each in local public schools. Teaching English in French is no small matter, especially with anxious pre-teenage kids trying to always pull one over on their white "professeur". Tutoring French 1-on-1 and in small groups is a nice change, and a piece of cake compared to my mission experience.

Exceled in 5 quarters on college calculus.

A- across the board in calculus-based, college physics courses and similar success in physics-related college coursework.

4 years of middle/high school French and one year of teaching English as a foreign language in a French-speaking country. (Classes taught in French)

I'm sure you'll find my patience and creativity in teaching are unparalleled by others! Looking forward to learning with you :)

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
