Hi! I'm a mother of four, step-mother of five! My oldest daughter has ADD and my youngest daughter has Aspergers. She was classified first as "developmentally disabled" and then "ADHD" and finally "Aspergers" but to me, she's just amazing. We have never let anything stop her. She could read at three years old, write in full sentences at five years old, and now, she's almost twelve, and makes her own comics! She is totally home-schooled and my favorite superhero! So now I'm ready to help other superheroes!
My bachelor's degree is in criminal justice administration with a minor in psychology, but I have home-schooled three of my four children. I am a published author of young adult fiction, and an avid reader. I believe children need one-on-one attention in education, for so many children end up being swept along and eventually just swept away.
I would prefer to work with elementary or middle school students at this time, on any subject. I know my way around literature and the English language if that is the area in which you seek assistance. Please feel free to contact me and we shall see if I can turn your child into a superhero as well. I see potential in everyone, and refuse to give up on anyone.
Elementary students are the most impressionable. If a child loses faith in their ability to learn during these impressionable years, he or she may never gain that faith back. These are the students that need the most attention. I am a tough but fair tutor, and I refuse to give up on anyone: student or parent!
I am patient and friendly, but pretty strict as well. Give me a chance to help. I encourage you to seek the best tutor that can fill your needs at this time. If it isn't me, I understand, but I encourage you to try on of the many other local tutors. WyzAnt employs many outstanding people that could be just the person you need! Hi! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
