I worked in Engineering for more than thirty years and simultaneously ran my own publishing company for about twenty years. For the last six years I have lectured two hours per week in Biblical studies (including New Testament Greek and Genesis Chapter One Hebrew). I am often called to lecture on various topics such as Carbon 14 Dating, Linguistics and the Origins of Languages, The Age of The Earth and the Cosmos, Macro Geology (a concept which I developed), and Eschatology. I have played Bluegrass music for many years as lead singer and lead guitarist (also Dobro, Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle) maintaining a computerized repertoire of over 1,500 songs. I have written several books, booklets, charts and web articles.
When I teach or tutor, my goal is to make sure that the student understands the material rather than just helping him to determine answers. I prefer to get a copy of the same text the student is using so that I can give meaningful help. Many times the textbooks are not very explanatory so I attempt to make the material understandable. Sometimes I may even make a mock-up or model to give a visual understanding.
I would prefer that the student pick a quiet location he is comfortable with which has WiFi access—a library location, locations provided by the student’s school, etc. If I have multiple students, I can prepare audio visuals if the location has an overhead projector. At this time, no tutoring in my home.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have written articles on the difference between Hebrew Poetry and Narrative.

I have been playing guitar since I was eleven years old. In the past I have played electric guitars, but now I concentrate on Flat-Top acoustic.
I have been taking classes in guitar, banjo, mandolin, and fiddle at Sinclair Community College for over ten years.
I am currently tutoring one guitar student and one Dobro student on my own (not through WyzAnt). I have been a bandleader in the Miami Valley for about ten years. I think most people would consider me to be an expert on guitar.
I formed and ran my own publishing business in 1990 I developed and used Quickbooks for managing all my business functions. These included Inventory, Purchases, Sales, Banking, etc. I had no employees so I did not do Payroll, but Quickbooks is very user friendly for setting up such operation. I closed down the business in 2009.
