About James

James has pursued education through work on a Bachelor's degree in history, government and English (BGSU), a Master's degree in History (BGSU) and 24 hours completed toward a Doctoral degree in International Education (NYU). A 35 year veteran of one of the best public high schools in Ohio, James is a published author and recognized teacher leader. He has twice been honored by the Jennings Foundation and was chosen state Social Studies Teacher of the Year and runner-up as Ohio Teacher of the Year. He has won awards to both study and teach abroad in Europe and Asia. James has been known for his creative methods in classroom teaching and assessments. He also found time to serve as leader in local, state, national and international social studies organizations and to make several hundred presentations to his professional peers, as well as to student and parent groups. James has also been a long-term member of the Teacher's Advisory Board of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and the Global Issues Resource Center at Cuyahoga Community College. Though retired, James is still involved in education with the training of teachers in the utilization of a curriculum on International Humanitarian Law created by the Red Cross and he travels across the nation and internationally to accomplish this task.
