I am currently a medical student at the University of Toledo College of Medicine. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland College Park in 2014, having majored in Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics with a minor in Sustainability.

I have experience as a tutor. When I was in high school, I volunteered at South Lake Elementary School, where I assisted elementary school students with mathematics and reading. During my sophomore and junior years (past two years) at the University of Maryland College Park, I tutored and mentored local high school students who came from underserved communities. I worked with them on SAT math and reading. Also, I helped them with their homework.

In addition, I have experience as a teaching assistant. During the fall of 2013, I was a teaching assistant for UNIV100, an introductory course for freshmen students. I had the opportunity to work with their advisor and help them learn about the university policies and procedures. During the spring of 2014, I taught a plant biology lab for non-science majors. I made quizzes, organized and explained lab exercises, and graded papers. I was able to gain experience in explaining plant biology concepts to students from non-science majors in ways that they would understand them. During the summer of 2014, I taught an introductory biology lab for science students. I proctored exams, graded assignments, organized lab exercises, and explained introductory biology assignments including genetics. These three experiences allowed me to become knowledgeable in teaching and interacting with three different audiences.

I have experience taking and passing AP exams in mathematics (BC Calculus- score of 5), science (biology and chemistry), history (world history), and social students (economics and human geography- score of 5 for both). Additionally, I have taken college courses including biology, genetics, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, biometrics/biostatistics, US history, and Greek mythology.

My tutoring style is tailored towards providing personalized instruction to students. Each student has a different learning style and I will adapt my tutoring style in order to provide the best effective instruction to the student.
