Hello and thank you for finding me. I have been a special education teacher for 15 years. I have been blessed exponentially. Working in wonderful districts throughout northeast Ohio and with devoted staffs led me to my current day position in Massillon where I have been for 9 years. I have worked with many different types of children including children with learning disabilities, autism, ADHD,other heath impairments, behavior problems and cerebral palsy. I have taught grades k-12 and I'm well versed in the (current) Common Core. I stay current in new strategies and ways to connect with kids. My current position is a Small Group Teacher (tutor) in the 7th grade.

My greatest blessing in life has been as mom to four wonderful children. My youngest is now a junior in high school. Three of my kids do have orthopedic impairments. I believe that this has allowed me to have a greater understanding and connection with the needs of children and the issues of parents. Growing up, my kids and I didn't do many baseball try-outs or gymnastics practices. We were recovering from the latest surgery. These experiences have made my children and I closer and stronger. (I have tough kids!) I relate well with children who have learning difficulties, health concerns or other issues which keep them from school. I connect well with parents because,in many cases, I was them. I'm grateful to God for allowing me the opportunity to become the strong person I am today.

As a teacher for 18 years, I have seen the "Common Core" shift and change nearly every year. Anyone in education knows changes come before the ink even dries. I'm working with young adults in grade 9 this year and have been flooded with "Common Core" or the latest standards. I have a list of the standards and when writing my IEP's, refer to them. My students have goals aligned with them.

Hello I'm an intervention specialist with 18 years experience working with children learning to read to those enjoying a high interest novel. I try to pass my love of books on to every child I teach; often buying two books in order to read and later discuss the novel with an interested student. I have also encouraged and enlisted every strategy I have up my sleeves in order to facilitate learning in kids who struggle, as many do. I'm good at what I do and am blessed to be doing it. Thank you
