Kent State University (History)
Hello! My name is Julie. I'm excited to help you improve your English! I have a Bachelor's degree in History and the TESL Certificate for Teaching English as a Second Language from Kent State University in Ohio. After completing my general coursework for English Grammar, TESL Pedagogy, and Linguistic Studies at Kent State University, I completed my teaching practicum in Dresden, Germany from May to June 2016 with 2 7th grade classes at Oberschule Weixdorf. It was an incredible learning experience!
I especially like working with children. Before completing my Bachelor's degree and TESL Certification, I worked as a nanny for 6 years for many families throughout Portage and Summit County, Ohio. I love how young minds work, and I've always strived to make learning fun and interactive. I'm ready to put my experience and skills to work in teaching English!

Whether you want to improve your English skills for work, your studies, or personal edification, we can work together to schedule lessons that meet your needs. It is important to me that my students receive clear feedback on their progress and that scheduled lessons do not interfere with their other obligations such as work, school, and family. After all, I am working for YOU, and not the other way around. Please contact me to set up a lesson. Hello! My name is Julie. I'm excited to help you improve your English! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
