I'm very appreciative of all the assistance I received from hired professionals to complete strangers and wish to do the same in helping others. I like to make the language learning experience fun and enjoyable -a positive escapade.
My specialization is to those who have English as a second language. I have seven years experience in teaching ESL and preparing students for TOEFL testing. I also specialize in teaching English or Spanish to executives who have limited time and prefer just the bullets.
I majored in Latin American studies, Spanish and Portuguese. I was a foreign exchange student in Costa Rica and was fully immersed in Spanish-only communication and culture.
I translated and interpreted Spanish for a manufacturing company for six years while traveling all over Mexico, Central and South America. I took advanced classes in Microsoft Word and keep up-to-date; used it while assisting executives for ten years as well as in ESL and language applications. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
