About John

Hello! I am a medical student at Avalon University School of Medicine (AUSOM) and am currently completing my clinical rotations through Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) affiliated hospitals. I graduated magna cum laude from Kent State University where I finished by bachelor's degree in two years. Prior to starting my medical program, I was the salutatorian of my high school; my SAT score is a 2120.

I am able to assist in several subject areas, including but not limited to, Biology, Anatomy, Histology, Pharmacology, and Biochemistry. In addition, I am also knowledgeable in the fields of history, religion, literature, English, and philosophy. I have personally helped many of my friends and most say that I am a good listener and teacher. I would encourage anyone who needs help to contact me. Thank you.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Public Speaking

I am able to tutor students in the area of public speaking. I took advanced placement English in high school and Honors English classes at Kent State University. These classes included a public speaking module which I did very well in. As such, I would be able to tutor students in this field.

Sewing

I am able to teach students how to sew clothes, buttons, knit, etc. I have sewn clothes since elementary school and will be able to effectively communicate this skill to others. In addition, I have also taught others to sew in the past, with a machine, and by hand.

Study Skills

I am qualified to teach study skills. While I was in grade school and high school, I was hired as a tutor by my school to help students who lacked good study skills. I will teach students various study skills, including teaching students how to make a schedule, how to manage time, and how use a student planner to keep track of assignments (as well as other daily activities). After graduating as my high school salutatorian and graduating Magna Cum Laude at my university, from which I earned a bachelor's degree, I am confident that I can effectively relay the study skills I used to others.
