Hi, I'm Robin. I have a Bachelor's degree in Physics with a minor in math from the University of Akron. I also have 5 years of graduate work in Optical Sciences in the College of Optical Sciences, at the University of Arizona. I have several years of teaching experience, both in a one-on-one setting as a tutor for high school and college students, and in a classroom setting teaching college level math, optics, and physics as a teaching assistant. I also have experience working in optics at NASA and universities and working in applying physics to aerospace projects in industry.
My teaching is focused on the student's unique needs, and I like to use real world examples to bring a more clear understanding of theories and principles of optics, physics, and math to my students. I want my students to not only understand what they're reading and solving but to also be able to visualize what the subject matter is telling them and to understand why that subject matter is important and useful.
I'm available to tutor in person as well as online via Wyzant's Online Tutoring platform, and I'm available most hours of the day and night.
Please note that I cannot help my students take tests. I cannot make any exceptions on this point.
Knowledgeable and Patient !
My daughter takes AP Physics class from Robin and she always feel accomplished after the class. Robin is an excellent teacher with exceptional knowledge, empathy and patience.Somnath, 12 lessons with Robin
Very patience and clear with explaining concepts which help student understand the questions
First time ever that my daughter speaks highly of a tutor. Robin helps to clarify and relate concepts in Unit 1 (AP Physics 1) to the questions she had worked on, and which reinforces her understanding. The topics include vectors, displacement, velocity, acceleration, etc.Ivy, 1 lesson with Robin
Extremely knowledgeable and patient
Robin is hands down the best physics tutor. I’m currently in calculus based physics and was so lost. After one session with him, I was able to complete entire chapter review of the material. The one on one is so awesome with him. He makes you feel extremely comfortable to interrupt/stop him to ask him questions. I wish I had found Robin sooner!Amna, 8 lessons with Robin

Very knowledgeable and explains concepts well.
Robin helped my daughter prepare for her AP Physics mid-term. They covered various topics. She said that he was very helpful! Turns out she earned an A- on the exam, which was the highest grade in her class. We really appreciate Robin's help.Lisa, 1 lesson with Robin
Amazing teacher and very knowledgeable
Robin was extremely patient and great at explaining everything. He was very easy to talk to an overall an amazing teacher. I couldn’t recommend him enough. He also provided resources to use and is very helping even outside of lessons.Shabana, 6 lessons with Robin
Robin helped me out tremendously! He took concepts that were very confusing in class and made them extremely easy to understand. I not only feel like I got a better understanding of my assignment, but I also feel as if I became better at reasoning through physics problems more generally. I highly recommend Robin!Darian, 5 lessons with Robin
Patient and good teaching
I am writing this review from the parents point of view for the physics tutor section Robin did on 10/03/21, 10:00 pm. Robin was very patience and clearly explain the problem and walk through the solution steps by steps to make sure the student understand. To help the student learn, Robin invite the student to engage in solving the problem and not just doing the work for the student. It is the essence of great tutoring. As the parent, I encourage Robin to engage the student more so they would truly benefit and learn from the tutoring section.Travis, 2 lessons with Robin
Very patient and Knowledgeable
Robin was very patient explaining some Ap physics concept to my son who finds anything math related difficult. He spoke so well of Robin's ability to come down to his level and get the job done. This is our first lesson and will be having more!Constance, 19 lessons with Robin
In one hour he's put me on much better footing in my calc-based physics class in college, effectively explains problems, can answer any additional questions you have, & follows up after the fact if anything goes awry in the session itself.Alex, 1 lesson with Robin
