Hi, my name is Moh and I am a rising senior at Harvard University. I am currently majoring in Applied Mathematics (with a focus in Computer Science) and minoring in Statistics. I went to Hilliard Darby High School, was a member of the math and cross country teams and always enjoyed helping people understand math throughout high school. I went to Hilliard Darby High School, was a member of the math and cross country teams and always enjoyed helping people understand math throughout high school. I have over 100 hours of experience from high school tutoring for subjects such as, Algebra 1 & 2, Precalculus, and AP Calculus AB & BC.
For the past 2 academic school years I worked 20 hours per week as a TA (teaching assistant) for an Introduction to Calculus class. This gave me further experience interacting with students of various math backgrounds. I like to use a diverse set of problems to figure out my students' strengths and what they need to work on. I tend to be very flexible in my teaching methodology as I think it is very important to figure out how my students' learn best. Most importantly I maintain patience and try to create a fun and non-stressful atmosphere. Math can be taught so poorly, and end up as a scary and mortifying experience for a lot of students. Thus, my favorite thing about my job is helping students' develop a more confident mindset when it comes to math.
In high school I took math up through AP Calculus BC. In college I have taken real analysis, multivariable calculus, classical geometry, complex analysis, Linear algebra and various computer science and statistics courses. I was top 10 in my high school graduating class, I earned a composite score of 34 on my ACT with a math score of 34, and am currently on the honors track for my Applied Math degree.
As a Calculus TA, I graded homework assignments (and provided feedback), helped the lecturer facilitate discussion about Calculus, led two weekly workshops aimed at developing mathematical maturity, and met individually with struggling students to aid in their understanding.
I will be in Hilliard, Ohio for the summer from May 15th - August 15th, and will be very flexi
