In the increasingly technological age in which we live, a well rounded education at the grade school level as well as the college level are the cornerstones for success. Teachers who love to teach as much as I do make the process much more rewarding. My love of Science and Math comes through in the way I approach teaching. I encourage analytical thinking and provide challenges at the appropriate level.
Proficiency in scientific disciplines depends upon mastering foundational concepts, consistent practice, and applying learned concepts. Using this philosophy, I have successfully guided several hundred engineering students through their college degrees. I volunteer in elementary school classrooms as a science resource and develop workshops for high school science teachers to incorporate cutting edge technology in their classrooms. I volunteer as a state science fair judge every year. Through these efforts, I have devoted 25 years to enhancing STEM education and loved every minute of it.
Above all, as a loving mother, the nurturing and safety of young learners is paramount in my heart. I will utilize my expertise and energy to provide the best individualized learning environment for your success. Come join me in this exciting journey of discovery! Hi! i really enjoyed my session with Prem Rose. She helped me understand concepts that I've been struggling with this whole semester. I wish I would have discovered her much sooner, I could have defiantly used her help !
Prem has carefully edited my paper writing today. She is a very good and professional scientific writer. I expected to learn more from her to improve my writing in the future.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry. Master's degree in Nutritional Biochemistry. Master's research area: copper deficiency as a factor in the etiology of colon cancer.
As an education director and academic advisor in the College of Engineering (COE) at The Ohio State University (OSU) for over two decades, I have successfully mentored students through the labyrinth of university requirements, policies, and procedures. I have designed and conducted helpful workshops for student success in competitive exams, and guided students in curriculum and research project selection best suited to their aptitudes. For these efforts, I was awarded OSU's prestigious University Distinguished Staff Award and COE's Above and Beyond Award.
I hold a Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition from The Ohio State University. Graduate coursework for this degree included nutritional biochemistry, clinical dietetics, anatomy and physiology, food science, and statistics. I have extensive experience in planning optimal diets for children and adults as well as low-glycemic index diets for diabetics.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Holy Cross College. I double-majored in Zoology and Chemistry with a minor in Botany. My honors research was on the role of copper-based enzymes in the functionality and structure of the laminin layer in animal GI tracts. I have mentored students in the classroom as well as the laboratory as they pursued scientific research.
