While completing a BA in English, I tutored other students in the college Writing Lab, as well as writing and grading assignments for professors in the English and Engineering Departments. Later on, I received tutor certification from North Coast Tutoring in Solon, Ohio. I tutored students from ages 6 through 19, including students with Asperger's, for North Coast. I also worked for three summers as an instructor/counselor for their six-week summer program held at Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, Ohio. That program is comprised completely of students with learning disabilities and/or social issues.
I take an individual approach to students, evaluating their learning styles and finding methods that work for each one. My greatest pleasure is seeing a student's face light up when he or she "gets it."

We have only had 1 lesson with Patricia but so far so good. She handles our rather fidgety child with ease and level headedness. Thank you for you work so far and we look forward to more sessions with you and Jacob.
Ms. C is absolutely a perfect fit for our child's needs. Very professional in helping our second grader understand math concepts and comprehension. She has a warm and caring personality also. We are very pleased with out experiences so far with WyzAnt.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
