Ottawa University, Ottawa Ks. (BA Mathematics)
I am an experienced mathematics tutor (13 years, over 5,000 hours, and many students) with plenty of success to back up the time put into my endeavors. I recently received my BA in Mathematics from Ottawa University, KS, online, and also possess a BA in History from Ohio University, Main Campus, Athens.
I currently serve as a mathematics tutor for both Lourdes University (Sylvania, Ohio) and Owens Community College (Toledo/Findlay, Ohio). Prior to expanding my horizons at said institutions, I served as a long time mathematics tutor, online mathematics tutor, and mathematics instructor for Terra State Community College.
I am highly passionate about helping others understand the world of mathematics. My philosophy is that everyone is capable of understanding mathematics to some degree and for every mind that exists, there exist a different way of understanding the subject of mathematics.
Over the years I have helped students develop not only an understanding of mathematics, but a new found enthusiasm for the subject as well. It is not uncommon to see the grades of students I have tutored raise by one letter or more.
I would say my most important trait as a tutor is that I do not make the students feel inferior, stupid, or incompetent; I work very hard to understand the minds of the students I encounter so I can help shape my knowledge into a knowledge of their own.
I am highly confident that any customer who chooses me as their private tutor will not be disappointed.
Thank you and I look forward to working with you in the future.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a recipient of a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and over a decades worth of experience tutoring several different areas of mathematics, I feel I am more than qualified to tutor Algebra 1.
In addition, a good portion of my tutoring experiences involve algebra. Plus, I like to take an analogical approach to tutoring based off of the; interests, hobbies, personality type, and/or learning styles of a particular student.
I am also familiar with the Myer-Briggs personality test and types.
