I am a PhD student at Utah State University for Aerospace Engineering, currently doing research at the Air Force Research Laboratory. I thoroughly enjoy the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields and seek to share my passion with others. I hope to help others develop a natural curiosity for how the world works and to develop a love of learning in STEM.

I am a PhD student at Utah State University for Aerospace Engineering, currently doing research at the Air Force Research Laboratory. I thoroughly enjoy the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields and seek to share my passion with others. I hope to help others develop a natural curiosity for how the world works and to develop a love of learning in STEM.

During my college career, I've had several opportunities to tutor friends and family. I enjoy being able to help people achieve that 'aha!' moment when the finally understand a difficult topic with which they have been struggling.

I am very passionate about science and engineering. This passion had driven me to obtain two degrees in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering and to strive for my doctorate. I believe I can share my passion and enthusiasm with others to help them learn how the world works.

I've been coding on a near daily basis for about two years. While I am most familiar with FORTRAN and Python, I also know MATLAB, C++, and BASIC. I believe that after someone knows how to code in one programming language, learning another is really easy. I mostly code for research and classwork related projects, but occasionally I'll write a code for a personal project.

For my master's thesis and for much of my college career, I've been coding in FORTRAN to solve engineering problems. My codes typically involve taking in user inputs either from the keyboard or from a file and calculating something and plotting results using a graphics tool, DISLIN. I've written codes for class projects, research, and personal projects.

Great tutor

Zachary is extremely knowledgeable and also has a lot of patience to teach the material and making sure the student understands the topic. Very talented with coding and Python!

Knowledgeable and patient

Zachary was knowledgeable about each topic I brought up and was sure to only tell me facts that he knew were correct. He patiently worked through each problem with me and worked diligently up until the end of our time. He was prompt in his responses and his schedule was very flexible so I could get all the help I needed. I would definitely recommend Zachary to a peer.

Awesome session!

Zachary was amazing! Despite some technical difficulties with the site, he was super flexible and still found a way to get me the help I needed. I loved that he was quick to spot problems in my code and did a great job explaining exactly what he was doing each step so I could follow along. He also stuck with me and made sure I had everything I needed before ending the session so I could feel confident going forward. Overall, he was knowledgeable, adaptable, and patient--would highly recommend and hope to work with again!

Solid and systematic tutor, highly recommended!

I enjoyed a my lesson time with Zachary. We worked through some complicated compressible flow material together. The problems were lengthy and involved some tricky aspects. I think most tutors would have given up and suggest I go look for someone else, but he made sure to get us through. Very happy with my lesson and hope to work with this tutor again in the near future.
