In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have an non-academic backing in Biblical Studies. However, I have been a Christian since 1992, I have held many leadership positions in various churches including worship leader, elder, and I have preached. I also have a wealth of information in Biblical History and general biblical knowledge.
As a USAF employee, I have worked with the USAF Civilian Personnel Directorate to recruit, hire, train, and outplace entry-level engineers since 2001. I have also worked as an on-the-job mentor for young engineers at my workplace in a supervisory and non-supervisory function as well as mentored young employees as requested who were not at my workplace. I currently mentor via monthly telecom a young engineer in Virginia.
I have a BS and MS degrees. I have three children who are or who have been homeschooled. My oldest son was homeschooled K-8 and then went to public school for 9-12 and achieved mostly A's with the rest B's while in public school.
I have a BS in mechanical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (1993). I have also passed my Engineer in Training (EIT) test, also in 1993.
I work for the USAF and have used MS Outlook for 20+ years. I have been at times the goto person in the office to troubleshoot problems with MS products when the help desk was busy. In addition, in my previous jobs, I installed all programs and worked up all computers for a 30-man office.
I have a mechanical engineering degree and use computers for a living. I have been the computer tech for my office for most of the last 17 yrs and have worked up computers and troubleshot issues. I also have four PC's at home and do all the work on them in Microsoft Windows.
I have a masters degree in engineering and a solid background in math from elementary through differential equations.
I've always had a strong reading and cognitive understanding of English. I'm also a homeschooling Dad who has helped his three children with reading.
I went from a high-performing student in high school who could achieve A's and B's without even studying to almost flunking out of my Freshman year in college.
I had to teach myself how to study in college and I used this experience to not only graduate with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, but also gain a Masters Degree. I have also instilled these study skills into my wife (who was attending nursing school when we were first married) and three homeschooled children.
