I am certified, Orff level I-II, Suzuki trained. I have taught various genres Jazz, blues, gospel, r & b, pop, classical and folk.
My major instruments are piano, saxophone, flute, recorder and clarinet. I also teach voice and scatting.
I stated earlier that I taught in Ohio, North Carolina and Nevada, so the cities involved were Salisbury, North Carolina, Cincinnati/Dayton, Ohio and Las Vegas Nevada. Each city had various ability students so changing from state to state was the adventure. I state this because being born a buckeye yet being educated CCM (College Conservatory of Music Cincinnati) and Livingstone College in the south gave me an appreciation of regions of the country and local styles.
What makes me an awesome teacher are the students who develop their skills and begin performing to an audience that welcomes their talent. I majored in Music Education BA but my graduate classes range from Orff, Suzuki, History, Theory to sight-reading.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In Livingstone College I was a woodwind major and my main instrument was Tenor Saxophone, flute was required with playing saxophone. I taught recorder and flute at North Dayton School Of Discovery for 10 years and currently I teach flute at Meadowdale Prek-6 both in Dayton, Ohio.
