Ohio University (English)
Anitoch University Midwest (MEd)
I am a graduate student graduating with my Master of Education from Antioch University Midwest in May of 2016. I will be licensed preschool through fifth grade upon graduation. I have been working as a substitute teacher in City Schools for the past three years. I have a BA in English from Ohio University, where I attended on a full tuition scholarship. I was also valedictorian of my high school class. I have a passion for education, especially elementary education, but I also have experience with middle school and high school language arts and social studies subjects.
I have completed my graduate coursework in my early childhood licensure (preK-3) and also have received my endorsement for all subjects in 4th and 5th grade. I am currently student teaching a Kindergarten classroom, and am familiar and experienced with teaching the Common Core English Language Arts standards. I also have completed the Ohio Reading Core course work, and am almost finished with my Reading Endorsement.
I have completed course work in Phonics, and teach phonics everyday to the kindergarten students in my student teaching classroom.
I would love to work with you and see you succeed! I enjoy getting to work alongside students in the process of learning, discovering and engaging in the materials together. I am excited to get to know you and be a part of your educational journey! I am a graduate student graduating with my Master of Education from Antioch University Midwest in May of 2016. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
