About Jeffrey

Having assisted students in a math study hall during his undergraduate days at the University of Kentucky, he also worked as a teaching assistant in physics courses at the University of Chicago and in mechanical/aerospace engineering classes at Rutgers University. He worked one-on-one with students working on independent study engineering projects at Rutgers and at Georgia Tech.

At both the University of New Mexico (Continuing Education) and at the Lockheed Martin Corporation in Marietta, GA, he developed and taught chess classes for adult beginners.

At Lockheed he also developed and taught an introductory German language class. He worked with instructors teaching chess to elementary school students at a private school in New Mexico and played a total of 78 students simultaneously.

He also worked for two weeks as an instructor of beginner and intermediate students at the Hummingbird Chess Camp in Jemez, New Mexico during the summer of 2005. Prior to their trip to Russia for a chess tournament, he taught high school students and their parents in Albuquerque the basics of the Russian language and some elementary tips about customs and chess in that country.

Mathematics is a fundamental part of his work as a physicist and engineer, it is something he uses on a daily basis, from algebra and geometry to advanced calculus. Please do not hesitate to contact him about tutoring opportunities in one or more subjects. He can meet with you at mutually agreeable locations in the Dayton/Kettering area.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
