I served as a Resource Teacher at Colonel White High School for four years and an L D Tutor at Colonel White High School for ten years. My role as an L D Tutor included assisting regular teachers in helping all students perform their assignments within the various classrooms. Since I retired in 2009, I have been a home instructor and teach students who are too ill to attend school. I teach K-12 regular, LD, CD, ADD/ADHD and ED. I have a passion for tutoring and teaching students, and I receive great joy when a student reaches his or her goal in the academic arena. I believe that every student can learn, and I use various teaching strategies to help my students. Sometimes helpful strategies can assist a student. For instance, something as simple as using another color in paper besides white can help a student perceive information better. Also using any device to help a student remember more can assist a child.
My teaching license, skills, experience, education and zeal for tutoring/teaching youth qualify me to tutor/teach students. Other characteristics which qualify me for this occupation include patience, love for youth, enthusiasm and confidence that every child can learn. Also I am punctual and organized. As a home instructor, L D Tutor and L D Resource Teacher, I have earned the reputation of "going the extra mile" for my students, and I intend to continue to work diligently to maintain my reputation.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
