I am an EXPERIENCED classroom teacher at the middle school and high school levels and tutor for students from grade 3 to college students and adults, having taught in Arizona, Nevada, Ohio, and Canada. In addition to teaching and tutoring experience, I have designed curriculum and grade-level specific reading incentive programs. I have a great deal of experience creating innovative, fun, interactive and challenging ways for students to learn. My experiences range from designing recreation center pre-school courses, to creating curriculum on District level committees, to designing and delivering Adult Education Classes. At present, I design curriculum at Sinclair Community College. My experience encompasses pre-school to college and adult level teaching as well as successful private tutoring.
My education includes PhD coursework in Educational Leadership at the Univ. of Dayton and a Master's degree from UNLV, Las Vegas, Nevada. I have a Bachelor's in Chemistry and Math from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, and completed teacher training at the University of Arizona. As you can probably tell, I LOVE to learn.
I have had excellent results, demonstrating a proven ability to work with students who have a range of academic, behavioral, and physical needs. My experience includes working with diverse populations, and second language learners. I am also very comfortable working with students who have moved and who are trying to navigate new systems and structures. My educational training, teaching experiences and skills include: Math, Reading, English, French, Chemistry, Dance, Test Preparation, ACT/SAT/PSAT/OGT, GED, College Readiness and Preschool Instruction. I have had the opportunity to work with multiple former 30+ ACT testers and a National Merit Scholar.
My focus is to be enthusiastic, positive and adaptable. I believe that the student’s needs should lead the sessions. I am always well prepared but adjust as needed. Finally, I am a proponent of hands-on instruction. Experience! Enthusiasm! Excellence! I guarantee all 3!

Trish is a life saver. I needed extreme help in math to take my ASVAB. I went from 10% on practice tests to 90% and from at 32 to a 62 on my final ASVAB exam within weeks. Without her I would have never qualified. She is very patient and really took time to make sure I understood everything. Trish is very kind, funny and extremely helpful. She is also very easy to get in contact with. She never made me feel under pressure or embarrassed to need help or when I didn't understand something. I am extremely happy and appreciative of her help. Trish genuinely cares about your success in this area. If you need help highly recommend her. Thank you so much for helping me succeed in my next step in starting my career and I will forever and always appreciate you.
Thanks so much! I truly enjoyed working with you and am so happy that you are able to move along the path you wish for yourself!
Trish was awesome! She immediately identifies strengths and weaknesses and provides testing tips and strategies that resulted in an ACT score that we couldn't be happier with. She covers every aspect of the test and focuses on the areas that need extra attention. We are so impressed with her tutoring skills and expertise and will recommend her to everyone!!
Trish's tutoring is very helpful in the sense that she points out my son's strong & weak points & concentrates on the areas he needs most.
I have so much enjoyed working with your son and am thrilled at his recent outstanding improvement and success on the ACT!!!

While teaching full time, I found myself differentiating materials and instructional techniques for students who had varied needs, including those identified as having “special needs”. My experiences led me to seek training in serving students who are challenged and learn differently. I have attended a number of workshops and taken Special Ed courses focusing on addressing and serving the needs of special needs students including those with learning delays, autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, ADD and ADHD. I have served on IEP committees and presently support teachers who serve students with IEPs in the program that I presently supervise. I have successfully tutored a variety of special needs students with differing challenges and rather than teaching to the special need, I instead focus on the success of each student and the way each student thrives while learning.
As a lead curriculum specialist and staff trainer for a college readiness program, I have developed a variety of curriculum pieces and workshop offerings that are delivered to middle school, high school and college students. One of the primary areas that we work in is study skills and time management. Typically students can experience greater success and lessened anxiety when they are coached on study skills.
