The Ohio State University (Graduate Coursework)
I am currently completing my Master of Science in Civil Engineering at The Ohio State University.
I previously graduated the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and French & Francophone Studies (secondary major). Some of my undergraduate experiences included studying abroad in the French Alps during the spring semester of 2014, serving as an academic tutor for my campus, and conducting research through programs sponsored by the United States Department of Energy, the National Science Foundation, and my university's Civil & Environmental Engineering Department. During my undergraduate years, I also participated in several on-campus organizations where I took an active part in campus outreach, volunteering, and various leadership roles to serve the UT-Knoxville community.
I love to be able to share the knowledge that I have. I'm not someone who is arrogant, so I look forward to growing as a tutor. I like for students to be able to express themselves, and I especially want to help them find the best way suitable to them in order to get to the solution. There are my ways to get from point A to point B, and I enjoy watching students be able to master the material until they have their own method or technique to arrive to a solution.
I not only took math as a requirement, but I loved to learn the process the steps and the proofs. My primary undergraduate major was Civil Engineering; therefore I got a chance to apply mathematics to real life issues. All of the math courses I listed are courses which I have aced or immensely enjoyed.
Haitian Kreyol is my native language which comes from French. I completed a second major in French and Francophone Studies during college. I studied abroad in the French ALPS for a semester where I had placed at the highest level at the French Learning Institute (ISEFE) in the University of Savoy-Chambéry, France. All of my courses were in French. I have also earned my DALF C1 diploma which is the 6th highest of 7th levels of the French language diplomas. Further, I tutored French while in college.
I scored really high (lower to mid 30's) for the ACT English which means I did not miss many questions. I love grammar, sentence structure, revision, and editing. I speak three languages which have all also enforced my English skills.
I am patient and am able to simplify things to the level of the person I am tutoring. My goal is to make sure the student learns, and I am good at making adjustments and necessary changes in approach to help people learn. I've served as a conversation partner with international students and have also served as a Teaching Assistant for elementary school students.
I attend Ohio State, so we could do tutoring sessions on campus if you'd really like to enjoy this campus environment. I am currently completing my Master of Science in Civil Engineering at The Ohio State University.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My ACT English score was 31.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. I am currently completing my Master of Science in Civil Engineering at The Ohio State University. I can do everything from technical writing to applications/calculations in all branches of civil engineering.
I took this course as a requirement during undergrad for my civil engineering major. I made a B in the course, but it could have been higher with better time management. I also tutored this course at the University of Tennessee's Educational Advancement Program. It is a course that I enjoyed both learning and tutoring.
