Capital University (Int. Social Studies)
I am an Ohio certified teacher. I have a bachelor's of arts from Capital University in Integrated Social Studies Education as well as a Minor in political science. While attending Capital University I excelled in my subject material and took opportunities outside of the classroom to continue to develop my skills as a teacher such as tutoring other college students and taking internships at various (non-traditional) educational programs.
I will work to help your student succeed in any of the following subjects: European History, World History, Chinese History, Middle East History, American History, Geography, Political Science/ American Government, etc.
Other areas that I have excelled in and could offer services are: Economics and Basic Business/Marketing.
I will work side by side with your student to find out what his/her strengths and weaknesses are in a given topic in order to develop the best possible strategy for them. I plan on using real life experience with all of my students by incorporating newspapers, online articles, social media and first hand experiences to augment the learning of the student. I do not plan on simply teaching them the material. I want to help your student build the skills necessary to be successful! I want to motivate and empower! I am an Ohio certified teacher. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
