Currently I am employed with Columbus City Schools. During the 2012-2013 school year I worked at Avondale Elementary School as an LLI reading teacher. For the 2013-2014 school year I worked at Moler Elementary School as reading teacher as well. While working as an LLI reading teacher at Avondale and Moler I provided daily early reading intervention to kindergarten students who were performing at a low academic reading level. I pulled four reading groups daily to work intensively with children who were struggling in reading. I also prepared reading lesson plans and reading games as well. While working at Columbus City schools I have also obtained an educational aide license.
Prior to working at Columbus City schools I was also an Adaptive Behavior Specialist and preschool teacher at St. Vincent Family Center. I worked with children who had severe emotional and mental health disorders such as bi-polar disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, and paranoid personalities. I also lead two one hour groups daily that focused on anger management, bullying, friendship,and problem solving skills.
I was also a tutor at The Charles School. The Charles School is a charter high school through Ohio Dominican University. I tutored the students in English, writing, reading, physical science, biology, and history. While at the Charles School I also worked with Somali students to help increase their language skills in addition to improving their academic progress.
Currently I am employed with Columbus City Schools. During the 2012-2013 school year I worked at Avondale Elementary School as an LLI reading teacher. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have skills in working with children for six years who have ADD, ADHD, Autism, Aspergers Disorder, bipolar disorder, and MR. I educated these children on life skills, supervised and provided social skill building, tutoring in reading,writing and math.
I have also have had training in educating children who have ADHD, Aspergers and Autism.

Currently I am employed with Columbus City Schools. I am an LLI reading teacher. I have been an LLI reading teacher since 2012. I provide kindergarten students with daily reading interventions. I also have been a substitute with Columbus City Schools as well. During the time I was substituting I was able to continue teaching kindergarten children how to read through the LLI reading program. I also was able to teach ESL students how to read through the LLI reading system as well. The ESL students ages ranged from kindergarten through 6th grade.
I have two years of experience teaching kindergarten-6th grade how to write neatly and how to write a complete sentences. I also believe a big part of handwriting for early learning is helping kindergarten and even first grade students to develop fine motor skills that will help with developing good handwriting skills. By doing fun activities with fine motor skills and handwriting this will make children want to learn more about handwriting and make them want to do their very best.
I am an LLI reading teacher at an elementary school. I have worked with all age ranges, but I have worked more with kindergartners with the LLI reading program. I helped my reading students who were beginning readers to decode new written words by sounding them out and blending the sound spelling patterns.
Currently I am a reading teacher at Columbus City Schools. I teach children how to read, how to spell, write, and I help children build social skills through communication. I have also taught children with special needs. I have experience academically as well as personal in dealing with children who have special needs. I have been able to assist developmentally delayed children with sensory methods such as tactile, visual and audible stimulation.
I have four years of educating children who have special needs and mental health problems. This includes MR, ADD, ADHD, bipolar disorder PTSD, and Schizophrenia. Also with these children I worked with I also lead two 60 minute groups each day using puppets and role play as a part of therapy. During these groups I educated the children on how to deal with bullying, anger management, friendship, and problem solving skills. I have also obtained a certificate in therapeutic crisis intervention as well. In addition to this I have also received training in educating children who have ADHD, Aspergers, Autism and Di-George syndrome.
I am an LLI reading teacher for Columbus a city Schools. I help and assist my kindergarten students memorize sight words and become familiar with different words. I have also tutored high school students. I helped them study for the OGT test, physical science, English, history, and I also helped ESL students study for language tests as well. In addition to helping the high school students study for tests, I also taught and helped the students in a Time Management class. In this class I taught the students how to manage their time effectively memorization techniques to help them remember the things that would be on the test. I also assisted students with organizing academic studies and also helped students to organize daily life skills.
I teach kindergarten reading and vocabulary skills at an elementary school. In my groups not only do I focus on reading, but I also focus on vocabulary words and what each word means. After the students and I review the vocabulary words then I have each student in my group use the word and write it in a sentence. I also usually have the students draw a picture that matches the sentence they wrote about.
