April is a certified prek–12 French teacher at K12 international academy. She earned her B.S. from Capital University in French in 2004. In 2006, she graduated with her M.A. in French language and literature from The Ohio State University. In 2011, she finished a graduate program at Ashland University earning her French prek–12 licensure. She has taught French to university students for two years and has taught French to middle and high school students for the last eight years.
April has worked and lived in both France as a resident director of The Ohio State University’s study abroad program and Switzerland as a French teacher at The American School in Switzerland’s summer French immersion program. She has traveled abroad numerous times with family, friends as well as student groups to countries such as France, Monaco, Switzerland, Mexico, Italy, Spain, Dominican Republic and Canada. As part of her love and commitment to helping students immerse themselves in languages and cultures of the world, April will be accompanying a group of high school students on an eight day trip to Europe in the spring of 2014. As a world language teacher, she loves being able to share her passion for experiencing the world and more specifically the French language and culture with her students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
