As a non-mathematically inclined individual, my mathematical accomplishments can be likened to successfully running a marathon in an ill-fitting pair of ice skates on scorching asphalt. Because of my personal history with math, I can relate to the feelings of imbalance, confusion, awkwardness, insecurity, and frustration that other mathematically challenged individuals experience. I can envision the stumbling blocks they will likely encounter and can illuminate the path before anyone lands face down in the gutter in front of a jeering un-empathetic crowd. I can relate to the experiences of the “keep up or get out” classrooms that perpetuate academic anxiety. I know what questions my students have before the query bubbles up from the depths of the unconscious. I understand the obstacles to overcome ... I’ve been there.
My education includes an Associate of Science with a concentration in Mathematics from Columbus State Community College where I was an Honors Graduate; I also obtained my Bachelor's of Arts degree in Mathematics from Capital University where I graduated Magna Cum Laude; finally, I attended graduate school at Ohio State where I was awarded a University Fellowship.
Professionally, I have over 12 years of tutoring experience with Columbus State and Capital University as a peer tutor, and at Ohio State in both the Student Athlete Support Program and the Statistics Department. I am currently employed at a Columbus State Community College as a Learning Support Specialist in the Mathematics Department, where I tutor college level mathematics daily.

my favorite, most effective tutor ever
Christine helped me for a few weeks when I was struggling in my precalc class. She was patient, funny, and helped me make sense of things I truly struggled with. Because of her, I raised my grade by one letter grade. I greatly appreciate how she helped me and I could not recommend her more.Emily, 4 lessons with Christine

Strives for student's understanding of material.
Christine has been tutoring my son in trigonometry. She is knowledgeable if the material and teaches it in a positive way. She makes sure he has an understanding before moving forward, so much so that they ran a little past hour. He has had tutors in the past but was really happy with her. She was very accommodating with scheduling, extremely prompt and great with communicating.Eric, 3 lessons with Christine
