Hello, I am Amanda. I am a APRN and have been in nursing for the majority of my adult life. I started out as an STNA at 16 years old and gradually worked my way throughout the nursing chain. I currently am a nursing instructor at the collegiate level. I enjoy tutoring students that are interested in nursing. I have mentored students throughout nursing school from the beginning starting with the TEAS/HESI all the way to the NCLEX. I have tutored in a variety of subjects: anatomy and physiology, biology, study skills, pharmacology, dosage calculations, TEAS/HESI/NLN-PAX, NCLEX prep, ALL nursing courses from fundamentals through medical surgical and mental health. I also assist with evidence based practice research papers and case studies including APA formatting and proofreading.
Each student determines their own study pace and plan for learning. I have learned, as an educator, that each student is unique and what may work well for one student might not work for another. Whichever way you learn best, we will work together on how to utilize this method to your advantage. I use a unique approach to education. I help bring textbooks to life by taking complex ideas and breaking them down in a way that is easy to understand so that a student can apply them to the real world. I believe that learning should be FUN. Thus, I utilize creative memorization techniques to help students learn and retain material.

TEAS- English

I really needed help with the English part of the TEAS and Amanda helped me out so much. I jut had one session with her and he not only have me good tips to look for, but she also gave me some worksheets to do. I would definitely recommend her!

You’re in for a pleasant surprise.

Amanda is the niece of a very well known teacher…Do yourself a favor and find out yourself. 3rd time test taker here and was able to pass! Amanda helped me pass my nclex test by assessing me first. Which I loved. Other tutors I’ve met on here will just go right into their own cookie cutter design of teaching. But everyone is in different stages for this test. She was able to determine areas where I do great at and places where I needed work on. Personally, my issue application of knowledge and technique onto NCLEX style questions. After learning and practicing with her, I was set to take the test. But before I took my Nclex exam, she sat with me through an entire test as I spoke out loud my thought process as I was answering each question. She made some tweaks in my thought process and she was brutally honest with me on whether I was ready to test. And guess what? I passed with 75 questions! I am truly grateful for your help, Amanda, and I cannot thank you enough!

TEAS Test

Amanda worked with me on math for the TEAS test. I took the test once and needed improvement on this section. I not only improved my grade and got where I wanted to but I got over 20% higher then the first time I took the test! I can't thank her enough!!! I highly recommend Amanda. Thank you again Amanda!!
