Bio

Hi ! I'm Nesreen.

I'm a jack of all trades and a biology nerd getting my master's in nursing. I'm also a language nerd and love teaching.

I graduated from CWRU in 2014 with a BA in Biology. I completed a senior capstone research project in molecular biology, which is still my passion to this day! I plan to finish my MN and MSN within the next two years then return for my PhD in molecular biology so I can do research again part time. Nursing is also something I enjoy immensely...

Nursing is also something I enjoy immensely particularly pediatrics and critical care.

In regards to my teaching, I think I'm good at breaking things down into basics and making useful metaphors. Presenting things the right way can make all the difference in student comprehension. I was hired by Kaplan in 2015 to teach biology for MCAT students, and find that my techniques really made a difference in many students I tutored. I think the best way to learn something is to make a meaningful connection. Everything is related, and becoming aware of the connections that exist between things will help you establish stable, long- term knowledge. I think that many students who are more quantitative struggle with biology, which requires one to have a detailed qualitative picture of a system, whether it's a human kidney or the leaves of a plant. But the good news is, there is some logic to it, which I hope I can help you find. Whether it's teaching my little siblings or describing a disease state to my patients, teaching is something immensely rewarding that I hope to do for many years.

Additionally, I am a life-long learner of languages. I was raised speaking English and Arabic side-by-side, and from a young age, found myself mulling the parts and pieces of language over in my head. The differences in word usage, use of prepositions, expressions, and subtleties in the connotations of words are things I think about daily. I currently speak English (first language), Arabic (fluent), French (Intermediate), and have achieved a basic level of Japanese, passing the Japanese Language Pro
