Ohio University (Electrical Engineer)
Nice to meet you, my name is Ryan. Having attended Ohio University for Electrical Engineering, Math, and Computer Science, I feel confident and comfortable helping others learn math from the perspective of a former student.
In my opinion, a good professor at a school or University requires not only the knowledge and mastery of the subject matter, but also the ability to transfer that knowledge to students in an effective manner. Some teachers and professors have been teaching their subjects for such a long period of time, they forget what it was like to be in the shoes of a student. This more often than not causes the 2-way communication bridge to falter. They prematurely assume students have mastered specific topics, causing them to hastily glance over material and chapters that simply require more time.
This is where I come in, helping students with topics that need further explanation, clarification, or practice.
My major at Ohio University was Electrical Engineering with a minor in both Math and Computer Science. I have graduated Magna Cum Laude and also received the Outstanding Senior award for the 2013 class of electrical engineers.
During my sophomore, junior, and senior year I was employed under Ohio University Tutoring Services and my last two years of school I also conducted graduate research for the Avionics Engineering Center in the area of GPS, navigation, and timekeeping. After graduating from Ohio University, I moved to Los Angeles, California to further my knowledge and experience in the aerospace community working for Northrop Grumman Corporation. I have tutored in Los Angeles and after moving back, wish to continue to help students succeed!
I specialize in tutoring Math for College as well as High School students.
Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Probability, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Calculus 3, Linear Algebra, Vector Calculus, Differential Equations,
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, I look forward to meeting you soon.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
