Hello! I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education with years of teaching experience, grades 1-6, in suburban and inner-city schools. I'm currently tutoring 3rd graders in the area of reading literacy.

Hello! I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education with years of teaching experience, grades 1-6, in suburban and inner-city schools. I'm currently tutoring 3rd graders in the area of reading literacy.

I believe fervently that anyone can learn. It is my responsibility as a tutor to determine the best method(s) that will help each individual and unique student. I love to incorporate the arts, for example, in my lessons. While the goal is mastery of skills, learning should be fun too.

I am especially passionate about teaching reading and phonics. Reading can take you around the world without leaving your home as it shows the wonder of different cultures and different locales. Reading is an equal opportunity enrichment tool. It unlocks doors for everyone regardless of social status or income. I also tutor in other elementary subjects including math, science, health, and social studies.

The primary grades, K-3, are of particular interest to me. I appreciate how the youngest children learn, how excited they become when connections are made, when that "a-ha" moment is reached. When that happens for a child, and it does happen for all children, that is golden!

I will try my utmost to help your child attain the goals that must be met, and to go beyond. I am an excellent communicator, and strive to be very organized.

Thank you for your consideration.

I hold a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education, certified grades 1-6. I taught for nine years. I left my full time job to become a stay at home mom which allowed me to volunteer in the elementary school that my children are/were enrolled in. I taught an after school enrichment 8 week course in a nearby city, in the Fall of 2014, to children in grades 1-5 in a mixed age classroom. Currently I work as a tutor to identified 3rd graders in the area of reading literacy.
Phonics,

Phonics

I have nine years of experience as a first grade teacher in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. I've volunteered in my three children's elementary school working with their classmates in the subjects of reading and writing. I am most passionate about the primary grades, and having a solid foundation in which to build upon. Great readers have a strong grasp of phonics which gives them a tool to use when attempting to decode an unfamiliar word.

As a primary teacher I taught study skills every day. The importance of children learning how to effectively study shouldn't be downplayed.
