Cleveland sSate university (Mathematics)
I spent my undergraduate career working with the tutoring and academic success center at Cleveland state, and the math (only) tutoring center through the math department. I found, like many others, that it is a profoundly rewarding experience. My philosophy is simple, 'understanding is knowing what questions to ask'. Thus, you're better equipped for dealing with unfamiliar material later on. While working at TASC I attended biweekly tutor training, totaling to about 100 hours of training. I can help students determine their learning style, and develop effective learning strategies that they can carry with them in their academic career.
I have tutored remedial math and English up through 400 level undergraduate courses, such as abstract algebra, complex analysis, real analysis, mathematical modeling, probability(for the actuary exam) . I have a minor in philosophy as well, which was focused on a graduate track towards logic and epistemology.
I have also studied physics through EM, game theory. I am currently teaching myself how to use python to work with deep learning. Rates are negotiable for students who set up scheduled times, and group rates can be discussed too.
Peter has a great deal of experience tutoring for working in the math learning lab. Patient, explains things accurately and clearly.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I teach algebra at Lorain County Community College, and have tutored at CSU's math tutoring center for 2 years, which involved mostly algebra tutoring.
I Hold Ba in mathematics. I was previously an instructor for calc 2 at Csu through TASC, for 4 years.
I currently tutor various students in calc/differential equations.
I have a BA degree in mathematics, and have taken the following courses related to DiffEq: Differential equations(mth 286), dynamical systems, mathematical modeling 1&2. I have also tutored in the Math Tutoring center, which often involved helping with these courses.
I have taken linear algebra, received an A, Linear Algebra II, and Advanced Linear Algebra, and of course the various courses which used Linear Algebra. Differential Geometry was very much based on linear algebra, and I received an A- in this, as well as Algebraic topology, which had an algebraic perspective.
I immediately tested into an undergraduate/graduate level logic course, in which I received an A, and helped other students. I also have done independent research in the field of multivalued propositional logic, using algebraic Geometry.
