Case Western Reserve University (Spanish)
I began learning Spanish over 12 years ago and love teaching others. I have had such great experiences with learning Spanish and want others to enjoy speaking Spanish as well. I recently graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Anthropology. I have had 3 years of previous tutoring experience and am eager to have more students. I also have worked for several summers as a Spanish interpreter in a medical clinic.
Spanish is not my first language, but I believe that my continued efforts to become fluent have made me a better tutor. I strive to explain each topic area in a clear and coherent manner, while also utilizing approaches that have helped me learn Spanish. I also develop lesson plans based on my students' needs and incorporate outside materials to make learning more interesting. I have a background in anthropology and incorporate facts about various Spanish-speaking cultures to make our lessons more fun.
I am happy to teach Spanish for any age and specialize in introductory and intermediate levels. If you are older and considering learning Spanish, I highly recommend it. Being able to speak Spanish has opened many doors for me and it is never too late to learn. I began learning Spanish over 12 years ago and love teaching others. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
