I've been helping students understand AND excel in mathematics for over 10 years.
Trying to learn and develop your mathematical ability without the proper technique and confidence is like trying to row against a strong current without a paddle. It's frustrating and even the brightest student may give up before realizing their true mathematical potential.
I've helped many students overcome math frustration; anxiety and fear by helping each student find and fill in the missing parts to their understanding. Almost any difficulty can be improved if addressed early and students need not continue to suffer in their math classes by just going through the motions.
Discover how much easier math can be! I've been helping students understand AND excel in mathematics for over 10 years.

I have been out of school over 15 years and was having so much trouble with limits in Calculus but Tjaye explained it in a way that made it so easy to understand. She made sure that I understood the basics first. She reviewed functions with me first and then we went back to limits. A-HA!!!!! Now it makes more sense. I can't thank her enough.
Professionalism is very important to me. I appreciate the fact that Tjaye is always very professional. She is prompt and I love her attitude. My daughter seems to be gaining more confidence in Calculus since her tutoring began. We are very pleased.
Mrs. Tjaye M. did a great job with my daughter. She is very patient and she really explained the lesson to my daughter in a way to help her comprehend it better. Thank you. We will see you tomorrow for lesson 2. Thank you.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Algebra I is the most important stepping stone in a student's mathematical journey. Mastering these techniques helps ensure better math grades throughout high school and college.
Students often have trouble mastering:
Expressions and equations
Plotting and Graphing
If you or your child has trouble with Algebra I concepts please give me a call.
Algebra II can make students want to pull their hair out but it doesn't have to be that way.
I can help you master those confusing concepts such as:
Sequences and Series
Equations and Inequalities
Linear and Quadratic Functions
Polynomial Functions and Factoring
Rational Exponents and Radical Functions
Exponential and Logarithmic Functions
If you have college plans, it's important to master the concepts of Algebra II early. If you're struggling - Stop it and call me.
Whether you're taking AP calculus in high school, a college freshman or a returning student, new calculus students view the class as a flurry of disconnected variables and terms.
Calculus is not a subject that one can sit down memorize and repeat. It helps if you practice and learn with a patient and knowledgeable coach.
Don't wait until you've failed all the homework and need to cram for a test to ask for help. Seek help as soon as you notice a hole in your understanding. I take students step -by- step through the concepts and explain all the missing pieces.
Limits, continuity, derivatives and integration can seem impossible to master but I can help you.
Elementary math is a critical point in a student's mathematical journey. A difficult elementary mathematical concept is the cause of many math fears. Plus failure to master the basics can prevent success in math for many years.
For example, if a student doesn't properly learn how to multiply, he will have trouble factoring. If a student has trouble factoring, he will have trouble in Algebra. If a student doesn't master algebra, every subsequent math class in high school will seem torturous.
Allow me to work with your student to alleviate any math fears and make math fun. My students quickly learn that math isn't so bad some even start to like it.
