Vitaliy's tutoring skills and experience come from his role as a Team Leader/Trainer that he took while participating in the English Writing Proficiency Test Scoring Project. He had a team of seven people that he trained and evaluated on a regular basis to ensure their optimal performance in scoring the exams. The team's successful performance owes a lot to the method that he developed and used to train his team. Furthermore, his methodology involved the following steps: introduction and instruction of the material through theory and principles, understanding of key concepts, understanding of examples, practice through interactive exercises and use of different examples, review of the material, test. Although this would also be a perfect methodology to implement for language learners as well, Vitaliy would be glad to utilize interactive personal learning approaches for each student. Vitaliy is a native speaker of Russian. He was born in Ukraine, a Russian speaking country, where he lived, studied, and obtained his education for the first 13 years of his life. During the course of these years, Vitaliy mastered his oral, written, and spoken Russian language skills to the "expert level" through completion of various courses in Russian and an in-depth understanding of Russian language and culture.
Upon immigration to the United States, Vitaliy decided to further his education in Russian. In May 2008, he obtained his Master of Arts degree in Russian Translation. This was an interactive program, which not only enabled graduate students to master their language skills, but also introduced translation concepts from theoretical and practical perspective, through hands-on exercises and projects.
Presently, Vitaliy is running a freelance business in translation, editing, proofreading and interpreting it for various businesses. Russian translation projects make up 60-80% of his project portfolio. Vitaliy believes that a good work ethic, enthusiasm, and attention to details are the key elements of success in the language industry and key factors of customer satisfaction.
